It's been almost three weeks since I started my language program at Pusan National University (PNU).
I'm really enjoying my studies here. Classes begin at 9:00 AM and end at 1:00 PM.
My class has 13 students, mostly from China, with a guy from Sweden and a girl from Japan.
I'm really happy with the teaching approach. If you don't understand something, the teacher will patiently explain it to you individually.
What I'm not too thrilled about is the number of quizzes. There are almost daily quizzes, and sometimes I simply don't have enough time to prepare.
But these quizzes are mainly for self-assessment.
I don't regret not choosing Seoul at all. Pusan is my city, and I absolutely love it here. The climate is fantastic, the ocean, beaches, seafood... it's all amazing.
The dormitory is fantastic! I've stayed at another university (BUFS) before, so I have something to compare it to.
The rooms are huge, with two people per room, each having their own wardrobe, desk, nightstand, and shelves. There's even a balcony! It's beautiful and picturesque.
Three meals a day are included in the dormitory fee, and the food is decent. While the abundance of rice can get a bit repetitive, it's a staple food in Korea.
I'm living with a guy from Peru who speaks perfect English. He used to be a teacher at EF, so I'm also improving my English with him.
Of course, there's a lot of homework, but I have enough time to manage.
The program uses textbooks developed specifically for international students by PNU.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to Ksenia, my consultant, and Alexandra, my mentor, for their help with my university application.
The hardest part of the entire process was preparing documents, getting a visa, and the quarantine. "Inter-K Education Group" helped me navigate all these difficulties.
