Hi everyone, my name is Tanya and I have recently completed my level 4 in Korean at Kyungbok University.
I am 24 years old, I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and my goal was to enter a Master's program in Korea in the same specialty.
I applied for the GKS scholarship a year ago, but I failed... I didn't have a TOPIK certificate and I decided that it was the language gaps that needed to be filled in order to definitely apply next time. I also collected my portfolio for admission: I wrote articles, took part in art competitions and passed IELTS.
Last spring, I asked Inter-K Education for help in enrolling in Korean language courses.
The criteria for choosing a university were: financial affordability and availability of a dormitory.
I would like to thank the consultants for always being in touch and answering my (sometimes endless) stream of silly questions. 😅
I liked the teachers most of all at the university: they explain all the material very well, they make jokes, and you can always ask them for help.
The atmosphere in the classrooms is always friendly and somehow “warm”.
In parallel with the courses, I tried to travel a lot around Korea, I visited Busan, Daegu, Gyeongju, Gangneung and other cities. As an architect, it was important for me to see everything I had studied for so long at university (my field is Korean architecture).
The more I got to know Korea, the more I was convinced that I was not mistaken in my choice of a place for further study.
This amazing country has taken a special place in my heart.
I also did not forget to prepare for admission: I passed the TOPIK (LEVEL 3), looked for a future academic advisor and researched universities.
By that time, I decided not to apply for GKS again, but to apply for an internal grant.
Finally, my choice fell on Sungkyunkwan University. Only English language skills were required for admission, as the track was 100% English, but I think my TOPIK still played not the least role.
I applied at the beginning of March and already on May 10 I received a positive response: I was accepted and also received a 100% scholarship!
I would like to thank Alexandra and Ksenia once again for their help.
If you want to be in Korea, you should definitely contact Inter-K Education!
