Hello, my name is Polina and I am studying on a language course at Sungkyunkwan University.
Studying in the first semester was not so easy at first: quite a fast pace of learning, which had to be included without delay.
But as I got used to it, studying became more and more addictive, and if in the beginning it caused a storm of emotions, with the feeling that you are somewhere-running at the head, then by the end of the semester the pace of learning became habitual, and to get more knowledge and information became the number one desire.
The classes at the university were held in such a way that one week they were online and the next week offline.
I believe that it is much easier to concentrate and absorb the material in offline classes. Teachers taught the material in such a structured way that everything was put together in my head without causing any confusion.
Moreover, they gave even more than what is in the textbook. It did not cause any desire other than to memorize and write down every word they said. This reveals the real approach to learning at the university: to give as much information as possible in order to actually LEARN.
On top of that, the atmosphere in the classroom was as friendly as possible, where everyone supported each other.
There were 12 people in my group, students from completely different countries, ranging from China, Taiwan and Japan to students from France.
You could get support and help not only from teachers, but also from groupmates, warm and close relationships with whom are established quite quickly, as people are kind and sincere.
The first semester at Sungkyunkwan University not only deepened my knowledge of Korean and raised my language level to another step, but also gave me close friends in different corners of this big world.
I advise future students to prepare to work hard and approach the learning process very carefully - it will help to adapt to new conditions faster and get the most out of the courses.
