Hi everyone, my name is Violetta. Now I'm studying on language courses at Sogang University 🥰
I want to share my impressions and information about ID and card opening~
The classes are taught by 2 teachers. The teachers are awesome, they really chew everything up and explain if something is not clear.
They even asked me to write in private messages if I don't understand something so they can explain it to me since I'm a complete beginner🙈
Our university is helping with health insurance. You have to pay 190,000 KRW.
The insurance is valid for a year, but you can apply for a 6-month refund if you only come for 6 months.
They also help you apply for an ID card through a group application.
If you don't have time to apply, the university office will tell you what to do anyway.
Group application fee: 50,000 KRW + certificate issuance fee: 1,000 KRW (“Certificate of Enrollment”, “Certificate of Tuition Payment” - 500 KRW each).
Documents:
5.1) If you are living outside the dormitory, you must provide a copy of the rental contract. (If the contractor is not you: a copy of the contractor's ID card, a copy of the monthly rental agreement and proof of accommodation/residence)
5.2) If you live in a dormitory, you need to pay additional 500 KRW (fee for issuing a “dormitory confirmation” certificate.
Once you receive your ID card, you can also open a bank account immediately.
It is also possible to apply for a student card, which will also be a bank card, but then it may take about 1 month ~ 2 months to process the application!
Documents required to obtain a student card (debit card):
I didn't really need a student card, so I just decided to get a regular debit card from Woori bank.
Documents needed:
And I would like to thank the inter-K team Education❤️ They were very helpful in preparing the documents and were always in touch!
