Hi! My name is Nastya, and this summer I went on a language course at Sungkyunkwan University.
The semester was 2 months long and we studied from 9:00 to 15:00. At this university, the classes last longer than other universities and the workload was really heavy.
Everyone was tired by the end of the day, and there was still homework to do or exams to prepare for once a month.
But studying was so enjoyable and fun that no one complained. We practiced Korean hard during class, and during breaks we danced, took tiktoks, and laughed a lot.
The campus is in Seoul, and it is pretty big!
Students who come for language courses study in different buildings, depending on the level. For example, I studied where the Business Department is located.
The placement exam took place on the first day of school. It included an essay, a test and a dialog with the teacher.
The teachers are all very good, they always help and explain everything.
My groupmates were also the best and I miss them very much. There were guys from China, Japan, Portugal and Russia.
There is also a cultural program in the semester. We were promised a trip to Lotte World, but because of the weather it was canceled, so we went to a paint show.
The university itself is located on a mountain, so every day I would first take the subway and then walk uphill or take the bus.
It took me an hour and a half to get there every day, and I was often late.
By the way, you can't be late. 3 tardies - 1 pass, 3 passes - expulsion. So, if you want to move to the next level, you need to be on time every day and never miss a class.
The exams are quite difficult, but if you study during the semester, it is easy to pass them.
Of course, because of such a load and a lot of new information every day my brain was exploding, but daily walks around Seoul with friends helped me. I met very nice people in Korea with whom I still keep in touch.
In conclusion, I would like to say that this was the best trip of my life. Thank you very much to Inter-K Education for helping me to collect my documents and enroll in the course!
