Here, you will make new friends and find inspiration to make your dreams come true. Immerse yourself in Korean culture and level up your language skills!
Language courses in South Korea are not only about learning — it’s also an unforgettable experience
Almost every university has Korean language institutes (한국어학당), which offer long-term programs for foreigners, providing them with a student visa
These programs are a chance to learn the language by immersing oneself in the language environment and culture, and share this experience with other students from around the world
If you’re dreaming of getting an education in South Korea, we offer an opportunity to study at a Korean university as a language course student

How do courses differ
in different universities?
Types of programs
Regular courses at some major universities are divided into:
General
Academic (to prepare for applying to a university)
Learning objectives
At some universities, the goal is to improve communication skills, so classes focus on speaking and listening.
Other universities place a lot of emphasis on reading and writing.
Benefits upon admission
Many universities provide students who have successfully completed courses with benefits upon admission to the same university.
Conditions of enrollment
There are universities that request documents verifying your activity if more than a year has passed since graduation.
differences
For example, our SSU students who have completed Level 4 of language courses receive a 40% discount on tuition fees upon admission.
Most universities require original documents for registration — but there are some that do not have this requirement.
General rules of courses
You can start your studies in any of the four semesters a year — they begin in September, December, March and June
After completion of each semester (level), students receive a university certificate of the course completion
The full program of regular courses consists of six levels
One semester of study lasts 3 months: 10 academic weeks and 2 weeks of holidays
Classes are held five times a week from 9:00 to 11:50 or from 14:00 to 17:50
In one semester, one level of Korean is completed — this equals 200 hours of classes
Cultural events take place once or twice per semester: for example, workshops or trips (the cost is included in the tuition fee)
Conditions and requirements
A certificate of complete secondary education or a diploma of secondary vocational/higher education
for admission
No visa violations
You can apply without knowing the language. Applicants who have previously studied Korean must take a level test — according to its results, they will be placed in the appropriate group
Attendance: at least 160 hours out of a total of 200 hours (80%) Academic performance: average score of at least 70%
Language course students receive a D-4-1 visa. The visa is issued for 6 months with the possibility of extension in Korea without leaving for up to two years.
Bank statement proving the availability of at least $8,000 or $10,000 in the account (the amount depends on the university requirements)
Completed application form

Study plan
One can remain at the same level up to two times — otherwise the visa will be canceled, and the student will be expelled.
There are two exams per semester: midterm and final. If a student scores a sufficient number of points in each exam, they are assigned to the next level. If the number of points is insufficient, the student remains at the same level and goes through the learning material once more.
To obtain a study visa, registration and payment for two semesters (6 months) are required. Some universities require citizens of certain countries to pay for 4 semesters.
