description Gachon University was founded in 1939, but in 2012 it underwent some changes and after that opened its doors again, combining four universities in itself: Gachon Medical College, Kyungwon University, Gil Gachon University and Kyungwon College. Currently there are three campuses: the Global Campus in Seongnam (Gyeonggi-do) and the Medical Campus in Incheon. This was the first time in Korea that private four-year universities were merged. The Global Campus is the largest one and includes 12 colleges. Gachon Liberal Arts College has a Department of Korean Studies that offers in-depth educational courses on Korea, including the Korean language, history, politics, economy, culture, and industry, for four years.
