Hannam University was founded in 1956 by Christian missionaries from the USA. Since then, the university has been guided by the principles of freedom, service and truth. The graduates of Hannam University are known for their strong moral guidelines and fundamental knowledge in a wide range of fields.

Academic Programmes | Tuition and Fees
Hannam University allows students to pursue Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees.
Undergraduate tuition fees range from 3,361,060 to 4,294,310 KRW per semester, including admission fee. Postgraduate programmes (Master's, PhD and Integrated programmes) cost from 3,668,650 KRW to 4,843,800 KRW per semester, with a one-time admission fee of 716,300 KRW.
The registration fee for undergraduate programmes is 85,000 KRW, for Master's programmes is 70,000 KRW, and for Postgraduate and Integrated programmes is 80,000 KRW.

Admission Requirements
Depending on the programme of study, proficiency in Korean or English may be required.
Undergraduate applicants may:
- Present certificates of a level no lower than TOEIC 850, TOEFL CBT 213, TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 6.0 or TEPS 700.
- Demonstrate English language proficiency during the interview if no certificate is available.
- Submit a TOPIK certificate of not lower than level 3.
- Submit a certificate of completion of a Korean Language Course at the Centre for Korean Language Course and Korean Studies, Hannam University, which corresponds to the TOPIK Level 3.
- Submit a language examination certificate from Hannam University that corresponds to the TOPIK Level 3.
Applicants for Postgraduate Programmes may submit certificates:
- TOPIK not lower than Level 3.
- TOEFL at least (iBT 80), IELTS at least 5.5, NEW TEPS at least 385 or TOEIC at least 850.
- A document proving citizenship of an English-speaking country, or a university diploma of such country, in case the education was conducted entirely in English.

Korean Language Courses at the University
Centre for Korean Language and Korean Studies at Hannam University
- The General Korean Language Course is TOPIK oriented and allows students to reach Level 4 in one year
- The academic year is divided into 4 semesters. Each semester students are required to complete 200 hours of Korean language
- There are 5 study days per week

For first-year students, the scholarship is awarded according to the level of the language certificate. Starting from the second year, the scholarship amount is determined depending on the GPA of the previous semester and the level of language proficiency.
Undergraduate students can receive a tuition discount for the first semester from 40% to 100% depending on the language skills and course of study.
Senior students who have a TOPIK Level 4, TOEFL above IBT 71 or IELTS above 5.5 can receive a tuition discount for the following semester:
- 30%, if the GPA is 2.50-3.49
- 50%, if the GPA is 3.50-3.99
- 80%, if the GPA is 4.00-4.29
- 100%, if the GPA is above 4.30.
If the student does not have the required language certificate, the discount will be:
- 15%, if the GPA is 2.50-3.49
- 25%, if the GPA is 3.50-3.99
- 40%, if the GPA is 4.00-4.29
- 50%, if the GPA is 4.30

International students can apply for Korean Language Courses at the Centre for Korean Language and Korean Studies at Hannam University. The Centre has the best teachers of Korean as a foreign language, each of whom has at least five years of experience.
All students are assigned to groups based on their test scores. In order to advance to the next level, students must achieve at least 70 points per semester and attend at least 70% of classes.
Guidance and admission counselling for the diploma programmes of Hannam University are held at least twice every semester.
Hannam University students participate in a "buddy programme" to help international students adjust to life in Korea and learn the language faster. International students have access to dormitory accommodation. There are three people per room, and meals are not included. To move in, students must pay a 10,000 KRW key deposit and submit valid fluoroscopy results.
The registration fee is 70,000 KRW. The cost of 1 semester of study is 1,200,000 KRW.
Accommodation in a dormitory for two semesters (6 months) will cost 780,000 KRW. In addition, students are charged an insurance fee of 155,000 KRW for one year of study or 80,000 KRW for 6 months.
