Korea National University of Arts was founded in 1993 with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of South Korea. Today, it is the only South Korean institution of higher learning that offers comprehensive training in all fields of Arts, from Music to Korean Traditional Arts.

Academic Programmes | Tuition and Fees
The University offers a comprehensive education that allows students to both gain academic knowledge and develop their artistic abilities. Students are encouraged to try out different fields, so it is possible to take courses of interest regardless of their major area. Graduates of Korea National University of Arts can pursue a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
The tuition fee is one of the lowest in the Arts in South Korea at 4,800,000 KRW per year (since 2009).
The registration fee is 80,000 KRW, and additionally 6,000 KRW is charged for the online registration.

Admission Requirements
Korean language proficiency
A TOPIK Level 3 or higher certificate is required to prove proficiency in Korean.
English language proficiency
No English proficiency certificates are required, but there may be questions in English on the Creative Writing Examination.
Some graduate programmes require TOEFL 550 (PBT), 79 (IBT).

The scholarship is only open to the citizens of countries that are on the list of recipients of assistance from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Korean Language Courses at the University
Korea National University of Arts does not offer programmes for teaching Korean as a foreign language.
The Konkuk Language Institute has been operating at the university since 1971. You can start your studies in the spring term (March-May), summer term (June-August), autumn term (September-November) or winter term (December-February). Each course lasts 10 weeks and includes 200 hours of language learning.
Groups are formed depending on the results of the entrance test. Anyone who has not passed the placement test is automatically placed in the beginners' group. Classes are held 5 days a week for 4 hours in the morning (9:00-13:00) or in the evening (13:30-17:30). There are two exams per semester: a mid-term and a final exam. To advance to the next level, students must successfully pass the speaking block. During the course students can go on a sightseeing tour of Seoul, visit the Blue House, learn to cook Korean cuisine and much more.
The tuition fee is made up of registration fee, commission fee and one semester tuition fee. The registration fee is 150,000 KRW. One semester costs 1,800,000 KRW. All international students are required to take out health insurance. The cost varies within 100,000 KRW/year.
There is a tuition discount for students with the best grades in the group in the amount of 10% of the cost of the next term. The final grade must be at least 80 for the course.
All international students can be accommodated in a female or male dormitory. Depending on the type of room, the cost of 6 months' accommodation will be between 2,848,000 and 2,964,000 KRW, with a deposit of 200,000 KRW (for 2024). Meals can be ordered on request. One meal will cost 3,900 KRW.
