Myongji University

Myongji University is one of the prestigious Christian universities located in Seoul. Since its founding in 1948, the university has graduated more than 130,000 graduates raised in the Christian traditions of love of fellow human beings, the pursuit of truth, and service to the good of the country and humanity. Graduates of Myongji University are successful in a wide variety of fields. Among them there are many celebrities such as the actor Park Bogom, singer Lee Dae-min, football player Park Chison and others. In 2024, Myongji University has about 14,000 students and 1,500 of whom are foreigners.

The university has two campuses, which are located in Seoul and Yongyin. The Seoul campus is located in the heart of the city in the Seodaemun district, where many other universities are located. This neighbourhood allows students to immerse themselves in student life and make many new acquaintances. Yongin City is Korea's famous center of high-tech and cultural heritage. It is the best place to experience how traditions and modern technologies come together.

Academic Programmes | Tuition and Fees

Myongji University offers all three levels of education: undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate.


The semester fee is made up of the admission fee, which is the same for all programmes, and the tuition fee for a particular programme. The registration fee for undergraduate programmes is 50,000 KRW. The tuition fees for the first and further semesters vary. In the first semester the tuition fee may be 4,093,000-5,897,000 KRW, starting from the 2nd semester and further: 3,908,000-5,712,000 KRW.


Both full-time and evening Master's and PhD study programmes are available. It is possible to apply for a Master's Degree (4 semesters), a Postgraduate Degree (6 semesters) or an Integrated Programme (8 semesters). Registration fee: 100,000 KRW. Entrance fee: 950,000 KRW.


Master's Programmes cost between 5,097, 000 KRW and 6,683, 000 KRW. Postgraduate Programmes cost 5,140,000-6,716,000 KRW. In Integrated Programmes, the first 4 semesters are counted towards the price of a Master's Degree and the second semester is counted towards the price of a Postgraduate Degree. Special programmes cost between 4,797,000 KRW and 5,588,000 KRW.

English examination fee: 10,000 KRW

Thesis examination fee (Cost of dissertation review):

Master's Degree - 200,000 KRW, Postgraduate Degree - 820,000 KRW

Korean language proficiency
  • TOPIK certificate for not lower than Level 3;
  • Korean Language Course Completion Certificate for Level 3 from any Korean University;
  • Korean Language Entrance Examination from Myongji University;
  • pass the Korean language entrance exam from Myongji University.
English language proficiency
  • TOEFL certificate of not lower than 530 (CBT 197, iBT 71);
  • IELTS certificate of not lower than 5.5;
  • CEFR B2 or TEPS 600 (NEW TEPS 327).

  • TOPIK Level 4 certificate or higher (Level 3 is sufficient for Arts and Physical Education)
  • a diploma from a Korean University, provided that the studies were conducted in Korean

  • Students with outstanding academic achievements can be admitted without a Korean Language Course, but they will need to complete at least 300 hours of language courses during their studies
English language proficiency

Scholarships and Grants —
Bachelor's Degree
The amount of the scholarship is 300,000 KRW.
Amount: 800,000 KRW.
Requirements: Minimum level is Level 5 (TOPIK) or Level 7 (IELTS) for Myongji Global Scholarship I.
Minimum is Level 4 (TOPIK) or Level 6 (IELTS) for Myongji Global Scholarship II.
Requirements: International students who are not recipients of Myongji Global Scholarship II or Myongji Global Scholarship III.
Korean Language Courses at the University
The Korean Language Learning Center
  • The academic year consists of 4 semesters (spring, summer, autumn, winter) and is divided into 6 levels (Yongin campus has 5 levels)
  • Class size: approximately 15 students per class
  • Class hours: 10 weeks per semester, 5 days per week (Monday to Friday), 4 hours per day (200 hours total)
  • Seoul Campus: levels 1~2: 14:00~18:00, levels 3~6: 09:00~13:00
  • Yongin Campus: levels 1~2: 14:00~18:00, levels 3~5: 09:00~13:00
